Over the last few weeks Bus Éireann have expanded their routes and timetables in Westmeath – providing commuters between Athlone, Longford and Mullingar with improved and more frequent services on the following routes –

Route 190 – travelling between Drogheda and Athlone – passing through Raharney, Killucan, Mullingar and Moate – is providing 10 buses a day in each direction. The timetable for route 190 is available to download here – https://buseireann.ie/timetable/2695.pdf.

Route 167 – travelling between Mullingar and Dundalk – passing through Delvin, Clonmellon, Kells, Ardee and Louth village is providing a frequent service every 3 hours between the midlands and northeast– with the first bus leaving Mullingar on weekdays at 6:40am. Route 466 – travelling between Athlone and Cavan via Longford – passing through Glasson, Ballymahon, Edgeworthstown and Granard. The timetable for route 466 is available for download here – https://buseireann.ie/timetable/2701.pdf.

The cost of travelling by public transport has been reduced substantially for many users in 2022, with Transport for Ireland offering 30% reduction on single fares with a Leap Card – and Students and Young Adults getting a 50% reduction with a Young Adult or Student TFI Leap Card.
